Bob Taylor has spent the past 40 years refining
his craft as a rod maker of distinction with the Leonard Rod Co.,
and more recently with Thomas & Thomas. With a commitment to excellence and determination to meet the needs
of discriminating anglers, Bob has produced a
series of rods equal to the finest fly fishing's rich history.
Each R.D. Taylor rod is constructed for the finest materials available,
including select Tonkin cane,
18% nickel silver fittings, premium grade cork for grips, and silk or nylon thread for winding.
All components are produced right in our shop to Bob's exacting standards.
Our Rods Combine superb performance with breathtaking attention to detail.

The top rod is Natural and the Bottom is Flame-toned.
You can choose from 2
finishes of rods:
Flame-tone, a
striking brown finish, or
Natural, a magnificent, oven
tempered light straw tone. Flame-tone rods feature oxidized black nickel silver
hardware, black guides and tip-tops. These are hand-wrapped with
Olive/Gold Silk. The Walnut reel seat is either up-locking or slide
band. Our Natural finish rods are complimented by
bright, polished nickel silver hardware and wrapped in light green or tan silk
with black guides and tip-tops. The handsome Apple wood reel seat comes
in either up- locking or slide band design.
