SARACIONE REELS

SARACIONE REELS

SIZE 2 3/4"

Spool Width: 13/16"
Weight: 5.1 ounces
Fly line: 1/2/3
Backing capacity: 50-75 yards

Application: Our smallest trout model is intended for the lightest lines cast on small waters. If casts are generally -under 30 feet, many anglers choose to go up one line weight to more effectively load the rod.

This size Saracione reel has historically been a favorite with fans of bamboo rods in the 6 to 7 1/2 foot range. Graphite rods from 7 to 8 1/2' with a cigar grip are nicely balanced with this model. Backing capacity is rarely an issue on small waters. If additional backing is required, 20 feet of running line can be cut off and replaced with backing. Price $825.

SIZE 3"

Spool width: 13/16"
Weight: 5.7 ounces
Fly line: 3/4
Backing capacity: 75-100 yards

Application: Our most popular trout reel for those anglers fishing quality bamboo rods, and graphite or glass rods with a fuller flex from 7 ½ to 9'. The reel of choice for those anglers fishing small flies and fine tippets on spring creeks. My size preference for many windy trout environments, those high country lakes and neighboring freestone high gradient streams where fast action 8'-8 ½' rods are needed to drive lines through contrary winds with pinpoint accuracy. Price $825.

SIZE 3 1/4"

Spool width: 13/16"
Weight: 6.3 ounces
Fly line: 5/6
Backing capacity: 100 to 150 yards

Application: A big trout, big river model, the 3 ¼ " size finds home on waters in the U.S and Canada's Rocky Mountain west, and the rivers in Argentina's Patagonia. Meeting more specific needs must include the Deschutes River's "redside" rainbows, British Columbia's kamloop trout lakes and her interior rainbow streams, the trophy rainbow and brown trout encountered on Alberta's Bow River, those spring creek rainbows in central Washington and Oregon, and both Atlantic and Pacific shad runs. Ideal for Klamath and Trinity steelhead and the Rogue's steelhead above Grant's Pass. For use on most of the above mentioned trout, shad, and steelhead waters, I'd select a #5, 9-9 ½' rod with a relatively fast action.

At first inspection, no one would consider this reel for spey rods. However, some super delicate two-handed rods of 10-11 feet in 4-weight are already being built. This trend will continue. We have already received inquiries from Japan regarding this reel specifically for just such rods. Price $825.

SIZE 3 1/2"

Spool width: 1 5/32"
Weight: 12.5 oz.
Fly line: 7,8,9 Single Hand Rods
5,6,7 Two Hand Rods

Backing: 150 yards

Our smallest disc drag model designed for both single hand salmon and steelhead rods in the 7,8 and 9 weight class. Also a perfect choice for lighter two-handed rods in 5,6 & 7 weight, and of course switch rods. It is our “Crossover reel”.

Joe Saracione personally fishes this model loaded with 125 yards of 30lb Micron and a DT8F for summer steelhead fishing. The drag system is set-up with the preset gear & pawl overrunning check plus the adjustable disc drag. Like all of the disc drag models in the Mark IV line it features quick-change spools and easily converts winding direction. Price $995.
