Hardy have been handcrafting bamboo fly rods in Alnwick, England, since 1872 – that's almost 140 years of experience, and the introduction of its best ever range of bamboo rods only reaffirms its commitment to the bamboo from which it's winning history was born.

Even in the high-quality world of Bamboo fly rods, the new Hardy Brothers " Moran" and "Gladstone" set new standards for buildno quality and attention to detail. Each rod is handcrafted by its namesake– Calum Gladstone or Tom Moran – here in Alnwick. The fact that these rods are individually handcrafted also allows us to offer a range of additional sizes which are available to special order, as well as H voice of finishes to suit individual tastes.

To say that the Hardy Brothers Master Bamboo Rod Builders are passionate about their work is an understatement – to them it is without a doubt a passion, not just a profession. CC DE FRANCE CANE

100 years ago, in 1911,Hardy Brothers LTD offered for sale the very first version of what was to become their most famous bamboo Rod ever – the CC DE FRANCE.

The original cc the France was built for and named after a competition in which JJ Hardy of Hardy brothers – himself a keen fisherman and fly caster – was to compete. So in 1910, armed with his 7' CC de France which he had designed and built in the Alnwick factory, especially for the event, JJ Hardy entered and won his section in 1910 "Casting Club de France" competition.

When JJ Hardy's triumphant return to his beloved Alnwick, the CC de France was put into production, and the first CC de France rods were released for sale in 1911, 100 years ago. These original rods remained in production for 50 years until 1961, but it was JJ Hardys very own original 7' CC de France that he used back in 1910 that we have based this 100th anniversary limited edition CC de France. By re-creating this famous Hardy Brothers CC de France, we are delighted to offer today's Hardy customers a chance to own their very own bit of the world famous Hardy brothers history.
