E. F. PAYNE ROD CO. - MAKERS, NY

MODEL "DARK ROD, 200"

8' 3PC 2 TIP 4 WT, LIGHT DF ROD

Built in 1925. Very historical rod. Was in the 1st batch of rods that Jim Payne and Frank Oram crafted together. Serial #44.

The rod was restored by Master Rod Crafter, Walt Carpenter and looks unbelievable!

It was done while he was working at the Payne rod shop in the 70's. The rod was made for his friend, Frank Marble.

Rod is wrapped in Payne brown tipped in golden yellow. Blued nickel silver waisted rod ferrules, size 15/10.

English reverse snake guides with early agate stripper guide. Cigar cork grip with blued nickel silver slideband

and butt cap with early butt cap stamping and Walnut wooden reelseat. Rod comes packed in factory green

cloth rod bag and stored in original early factory labeled brass capped rod tube.

Rod is accompanied with a letter from Walt Carpenter and a photo of Jim Payne and Jim Marble.

Also, has an original fold out, Company Catalog from 1925.

This is one of the nicest Payne's I've ever offered. It has not been fished since Walt restored it in the 1970's.

Rod is in excellent restored condition - from Walt's collection.

A great rod for the Fly Fisher to add to his collection or fish in the Catskill Rivers! $6995.
