3 oz. This rod is the very first rod T & T built when the factory was originated.

It was the first of 3 proto-types produced in late 1971. It has a dark

flamed finish, red wraps, bright nickel silver rod ferrules. Carbide stripper
guide. A small fast tapered cork grip with aluminum slide band and butt cap with Walnut wooden reel seat.
Rod comes packed in original olive cloth rod bag and "The Classic" models were stored in aluminum labeled black
plastic capped rod tubes. This rod was kept in Tom Maxwell's personal collection till just before his passing.
The rod bears the Serial #2015-1. A mark worn by no other T & T rod. The inside of the butt cap is stamped, #1.
This comes with a letter written by Tom Maxwell and signed, September 9th, 1997. A very important and historical
rod, built by the Father's of the Contemporary rod design! There is no other like it.
